Making lemon balm tea

Lemon balm has a lemon fragrance and the tea made by using it is known for its medicinal benefits too. Various researches have been carried out on the lemon balm tea and lemon balm is found to be useful in many health conditions like headaches, stomach upsets and has traditionally been used for such other common complaints. Some studies have also shown that it can be effective in ailments like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Alzheimer’s disease.

It is good to know about such ingredients that are found to be useful and can be easily included in your regular diet. But it is even more interesting to know that preparing the lemon balm tea at home is also quite easy and you can enjoy the benefits very well.


Here are some steps that you need to follow for making lemon balm tea.
  1. Collect some lemon balm leaves either fresh ones if possible or small quantities dried ones can also serve the purpose.
  2. Take the fresh leaves and clean them thoroughly with clean water. This will remove all the dirt and other material that is stuck to the leaves.
  3. You can then place the leaves directly into the tea pot or place it in a tea bag and insert the bag in the tea pot.
  4. Then fill the tea pot with water and allow the mixture to boil.
  5. These leaves have a pleasing aroma and you will find yourself enjoying your tea preparation.
  6. After boiling remove the water and allow it to remain for some time. If the lemon balm leaves are placed in a tea bag, you can dip the bag a few times.
  7. Your lemon balm tea is now ready and you can enjoy the calming tea for all its benefits. Honey or sugar can be added to the tea as per your taste.
